In partnership with Unloc and the Changemaker Alliance member, Verizon Business, Palo Alto Networks organised the Skills for Success Days—an innovative programme designed to introduce young people to the wide-ranging career opportunities in the cybersecurity and technology sectors. The event was all about breaking down common misconceptions about hackers, offering insights into real-world cybersecurity challenges, and providing a platform for young students to hear directly from professionals working in the field.
Unloc and Palo Alto Networks approached Creation DMC to create a dynamic video that would capture the essence of these events and showcase the diverse experiences offered to students. The video needed to reflect the forward-thinking, tech-focused nature of the programme and appeal to a broad audience including young people, educators, and corporate partners.
The Challenge
The Skills for Success Days involved a packed schedule of interactive activities, including myth-busting discussions about hackers, case study analysis, and direct engagement with industry volunteers. The event culminated in student presentations on how they would tackle potential cyber attacks in their school communities. The challenge was to produce a video that highlighted the excitement and energy of the day while ensuring the focus on the learning and career development aspects wasn’t lost.
Additionally, the video had to showcase the involvement of both Palo Alto Networks and Verizon Business as key partners, ensuring their roles in supporting youth education and career exploration were clearly communicated.
Our Approach
Purpose & Pre-Production:
- The goal of the video was to highlight the hands-on, collaborative learning environment that the Skills for Success Days offered. We aimed to capture the students’ engagement with the event activities and their interactions with the professionals from Palo Alto Networks and Verizon Business.
- In the planning stages, we worked closely with Unloc to ensure that the key messages were clear: cybersecurity is a diverse and accessible field, and events like this are crucial in helping young people explore their career options.
On-Site Filming:
- To fully capture the energy of the day, we filmed students participating in various activities such as case study sessions, discussions with industry professionals, and their final presentations.
